Frequently asked questions about billing

Do I have to pay for my move all at one time?

With PODS pay-as-you-go pricing, you won’t get hit with one big bill. Instead, you pay gradually throughout your move to help make paying more manageable. The specific time you pay depends on the service you receive, such as a long-distance move, a local move, or storage.

I’ve received multiple billing documents. What are the differences between them?

After placing your order, you can expect to see three billing documents detailing your charges: (1) Order Confirmation, (2) Invoices, and (3) Statements.

The order confirmation provides an overview of all the services included in your order. Think of it as a detailed summary that outlines the specific charges of each service you've selected. Invoices break down the charges for each service individually. They offer a detailed breakdown of the costs associated with each specific service.

Statements provide a monthly overview of all the invoices generated during that period. These statements combine information from individual invoices, giving you a summarized view of your invoices for a specific month. For more information on your billing documents, view PODS billing document guide.

How can I get a final invoice with all my charges?

To receive a breakdown of all your charges, follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to your MyPODS.com account.
  2. Navigate to the "Invoices & Documents" tab.
  3. Select "Custom Statements."
  4. Choose the dates from when you placed your order until the current date.
  5. Finally, click on the "Process Statement" button.

How do I see my account balance?

You can access your account online to retrieve a copy of your invoices. Once logged in, click the tab on the right labeled ‘View My Invoices.’

In what instances might my quote not match my billing statement?

Several factors may cause your quote to differ from your billing statement. For example, your quote may not include tax because it can change from the date an order is placed to the date that the service is performed, while your billing statement will always capture applicable taxes in the total. Making changes to your order after you’ve received your quote can also cause your billing statement to differ from your quote. Other examples of changes that might cause a difference include updates to ZIP codes and extending the length of your rental.

Why is the promotion applied to certain parts of my order and not the entire order?

Promotional discounts are closely tied to the terms and conditions for that specific promotion. As a result, the discount may pertain only to specific services or parts of your order. To understand where a discount applies, we recommend always checking the terms and conditions for that promotion.

Can I expect to see the same charge twice?

We recognize that it may sometimes look like you've been double charged, but rest assured, PODS pre-authorizes your payment card for the estimated amount. This temporarily holds the funds and shows as a pending transaction. Once your move is completed, these funds transfer to PODS. However, his transfer process might take a couple of days, which can make it appear like a double charge. Please note that it’s not an extra charge – It’s just a temporary hold until everything is settled.

What day is the rental for my container due?

PODS container rent is due on the day the container is delivered and continues from the same date on a monthly billing cycle thereafter until PODS picks up the container. For instance, if your container was delivered on the 10th of the month, your monthly charge will occur on the 10th of the following month as long as you keep your container.

If I rent for one month but need longer, is that OK?

You can keep your container for as long as you need it. You’ll be billed monthly until your container is emptied and returned.

Service dates are subject to availability. Therefore, advance notice is required.

Which order confirmation should I use?

Refer to the most recent order confirmation you receive from PODS. This will serve as your most up-to-date receipt.

Which document should I look at to review my order?

Please review your latest order confirmation from PODS for the most up-to-date information on your order.

What happens if I make a change to my order?

If you change your order or schedule another service, you will receive a new order confirmation. Always refer to your latest order confirmation from PODS for the most up-to-date information.

If I can't schedule my container pick up on my desired date because the PODS calendar is full or PODS cannot deliver, will I get charged for an extra month if I go past my renewal date by a few days?

We understand that sometimes scheduling conflicts happen. Before your monthly renewal date, just call our PODS Customer Care Team at (855) 706-4758. Let them know your desired pick-up date is unavailable. They’ll help you choose a new pick-up date and avoid an additional monthly rental charge.

Can I break up my payments into smaller amounts?

Payments cannot be broken down. However, to help make paying more manageable, you are billed based on when each service is scheduled to be completed (initial delivery, transit, redelivery, etc.).

Can I rent my container by the day or week?

You can rent your container only by the month, but you can keep your container for as long as you need. You are billed monthly on the anniversary of when your empty container was delivered.

Why am I being billed for coverage while my container is at a PODS Storage Center?

Your coverage spans a variety of risks while your container is stored on your property, kept at a PODS Storage Center, or in transit.

How do I dispute charges I believe are inaccurate?

Please contact our Sales & Service center at (877) 770-PODS (7637).

How am I billed if I’ve financed my move through Acorn Finance?

If you're financing your service, PODS will bill your lender directly. You'll repay Acorn Finance according to your chosen terms. Everything else, such as the payment schedule and billing documents received by PODS, stays the same.
