Warm, secure winter storage for your car

Participating locations include Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.

We can store cars with a length of up to 15.2 ft. (4.63 m).

Monthly payments are conveniently automatically charged to your credit card on file.

Winter car storage is available starting in September. The minimum storage duration is 4 months.

Customers who store their car with PODS past April 30 will be charged our regular monthly rental rate beginning May 1.

A specific car storage contract will be used instead of the standard PODS rental agreement, and you’ll sign this contract when you bring your car in for storage. A PDF version of the contract can be emailed in advance should you wish to review it ahead of time.

Vehicles must be stored for the whole period of time, so you won’t be able to access your car or take it out and bring it back.

Battery chargers are not permitted; however, the battery can be disconnected for the storage duration. If the vehicle doesn’t start when you come to pick it up, we’ll give it a boost.

PODS does not deliver a container to store your vehicle at home. You’ll need to bring your car to our Storage Center so it can be placed inside your container.

We never drive the container around with the car inside, so it isn’t necessary to attach the vehicle to the container. Transmission is placed in park or first gear, and the parking brake is applied.

The container with the car is always stored inside our secure and heated Storage Centre. Your container will be moved and stacked with our high-capacity forklift.

It’s not necessary to empty the fuel tank.

As PODS is not an insurer, we will not be providing insurance coverage for the stored vehicle. It is recommended that you, at all times during the term of this agreement, maintain in full force and effect a standard auto insurance policy, including third-party liability coverage, statutory accident benefits coverage, direct compensation property damage coverage, and uninsured automobile coverage.

Hazardous Materials such as toxic chemicals, gas, liquids, substance, material or waste, lawn mowers, motorized vehicles and illegal items cannot be placed in a PODS Container. 
We also recommend that heirlooms, irreplaceable artifacts, deeds, legal notices, forms of currency and items that are not your personal property are not placed in the Container. Refer to your rental agreement for additional restrictions on what cannot be stored in the Container.

HUMAN OR ANIMAL HABITATION IS ALSO SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITED.

We recommend a 2 ¾” (70mm) Disc Lock or a 1 ¾” Padlock. Locks can be purchased from PODS or at your local home improvement store.
