Hawaii terms

The following terms and conditions shall apply for any Hawaii shipment of any Unit:

SERVICES CURRENTLY OFFERED ON THE ISLAND OF O’AHU:

  • Full service is available, including inside Facility storage, on-site storage, direct moves, and/or loading or unloading of the Units at PODS Facilities
  • Loading or unloading of Units at the port of Honolulu is not allowed.

SERVICES CURRENTLY OFFERED ON THE ISLAND OF MAUI AND ISLAND OF HAWAI’I, EAST SIDE:

  • Service is limited to loading or unloading of the Units at the facilities listed below during normal hours of operation (not including holidays).
  • Inside Facility storage is not offered.
  • Loading or unloading of Units at the port of Kahului (island of Maui) and port of Hilo (island of Hawai’i) are not allowed.

Kahului (island of Maui) Facility

  • 80 Hansen Road, Kahului, HI 96732

    Monday – Friday 8:00am-11:45am; 1:00pm-3:30pm
    Saturday & Sunday closed

Hilo (island of Hawai’i, East side)

  • 32 Pohaku Street, Hilo, HI 96720
  • Hours of operation by appointment only:
    Monday – Friday 8:00am-11:45am; 1:00pm-3:30pm
    Saturday & Sunday closed

 

  • Customer must provide Company with the name(s) of the person, people, or business responsible for loading and/or unloading the Unit(s) at the facility at time of order; only the name(s) given at time of order will be allowed access to the Unit(s) at the facility.
  • Customer will be notified by Company when the Customer’s Unit(s) has/have arrived at the facility & must complete the loading or unloading of their Unit(s) within (4) business days of the Unit(s)’ availability. Failure to complete the loading or unloading process in this required timeframe will result in daily fines of not less than $25.00 per day per Unit.
  • Access for loading & unloading of Units will only be allowed during normal operating hours for the particular facility where the Unit(s) is/are located; normal hours of operation for the selected facility or facilities will be given to Customer at time of booking.
    While at the facility, Customer must remain within the immediate vicinity of their Unit(s) & be actively loading or unloading at all times.
  • Upon completion of loading or unloading of Unit(s), Customer will report back to the facility representative that loading or unloading has been completed
  • All loaded Units must be latched & secured with Customer-provided lock prior to Customer’s departure from the facility.
  • All unloaded Units must be completely cleaned & swept out prior to Customer’s departure from the facility

SERVICES CURRENTLY OFFERED ON THE ISLANDS OF KAUA’I, MOLOKA’I, LANA’I & HAWAI’I:

Service is limited to loading or unloading of Units only at the following port facilities during normal hours of operation (not including holidays; hours of operation are set forth by the shipper & are subject to change at any time):

Port of Nawiliwili (island of Kaua’i)

  • 3020 Waapa Road, Pier 3, Lihu’e, HI 96766
  • Hours of operation:
    Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 7:30am-11:30am
    Saturday & Sunday closed

Port of Kaunakakai (island of Moloka’i)

  • Kaunakakai Pier, Kaunakakai, HI 96748
  • Hours of operation:
    Monday & Thursday 7:30am-2:30pm (closed from 10:45am-12:00pm)
    Tuesday 7:30am-11:30am
    Wednesday 1:00pm-4:30pm
    Friday, Saturday & Sunday closed

Port of Kaumalapau (island of Lana’i)

  • Kaumalapau Pier, Kaumalapau, HI 96763
  • Hours of operation:
    Tuesday & Thursday 7:30am-11:30am
    Wednesday 7:30am-4:00pm (closed from 11:30am-12:30pm)
    Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday closed

Port of Kawaihae (island of Hawai’i; West side)

  • Pier 2, Kawaihae, HI 96743
  • Hours of operation:
    Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 7:30am-11:30am
    Saturday & Sunday closed

 

  • Customer must provide Company with the name(s) of the person, people, or business responsible for loading and/or unloading the Unit(s) at the port at time of order so the shipper can be notified; only the name(s) given at time of order will be allowed access to the Unit(s) at the port facility.
  • Customer will be notified by Company when the Customer’s Unit(s) has/have arrived at the port facility & must complete the loading or unloading of their Unit(s) within (2) business days of the Unit(s)’ availability; the next business day after the Unit(s) arrival is normally the 1st day of availability. Failure to complete the loading or unloading process in this required timeframe will result in daily fines of not less than $50.00 per day per Unit.
  • Valid state-issued photo ID will be required for all adults 18 years of age or older to gain access to port facility to load and/or unload Unit(s).
  • All vehicles used to gain access to the port facility will need to be accompanied by current proof of registration, safety inspection & insurance to be allowed access
  • All port facilities are subject to US Homeland Security as well as US Coast Guard rules & regulations; security levels & associated screening processes at all port facilities are subject to change at any time; Customers are required to adhere to MARSEC security processes at all times while at the port facility.
  • Upon arrival at the port facility & clearing of security, Customer is to proceed to the Customer Service office to check in with Outport clerk.
  • Outport clerk will produce a Certificate of Delivery of Cargo (CDC) with PODS Unit ID number(s) & shipper platform number(s) for Customer, then direct Customer to visit the Freight Clerk station where CDC is presented to the Freight Clerk.
  • The Freight Clerk will identify the PODS Unit ID number(s) & shipper platform number(s) on the CDC, have Customer sign for receipt, issue Customer their copy of the CDC, then escort Customer to their PODS Unit(s) in the yard for loading or unloading.
  • If a Customer needs to load or unload their Unit(s) in multiple trips, Customer must present their copy of the CDC to security & repeat the security screening process each time they return to the port facility; failure to bring their copy of the CDC will result in refusal of entry.
  • Access for loading & unloading of Units will only be allowed during normal operating hours for the particular port facility where the Unit(s) is/are located; normal hours of operation for the selected port facility or facilities will be given to Customer at time of booking.
  • While at the port facility, Customer must remain within the immediate vicinity of their Unit(s) & be actively loading or unloading at all times.
  • Upon completion of loading or unloading of Unit(s), Customer will report back to the Freight Clerk that loading or unloading has been completed
  • All loaded Units must be latched & secured with Customer-provided lock prior to Customer’s departure from the port facility.
  • All unloaded Units must be completely cleaned & swept out prior to Customer’s departure from the port facility in abidance of State of Hawai’i Harbor Division regulation which states that all packaging materials will be removed from pier upon receipt of cargo; failure to comply will result in Customer being charged a fine of not less than $75.00 per Unit.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR INTER-ISLAND MOVES:

  • All Customers must insure their contents for a minimum coverage level of $10,000. Customer may obtain Contents Protection coverage through PODS for an additional monthly fee to satisfy the insurance requirement. If Customer does not desire to secure Content Protection coverage through PODS, proof of insurance for at least the $10,000 minimum coverage amount must be received in writing by PODS prior to the delivery of any Unit(s) to the origination port facility.
  • Customer must have a valid credit card on file which is set up on “auto-pay.”
  • Payment to PODS in full of all shipping fees must be received prior to the delivery of any Unit(s) to the origination port facility.
  • No Unit(s) will be delivered to the origination port facility if a balance is owed on Customer’s account.
